Sul cambiamento di programma imposto dall'improvvisa scomparsa di Tony Marsh scrivono gli organizzatori: "We were very saddened to hear of the death of Tony Marsh on 9 April 2012. He was meant to have opened the final night of Freedom of the City in a percussion and drums duo with Mark Sanders. The question of what to do instead was an awkward one: a solo set from Mark perhaps, or a blank in the programme, or maybe even something completely unrelated to what was originally planned? We've decided on a group that features Mark with two musicians with whom Tony played a lot in recent years: bassist John Edwards and reedsman Shabaka Hutchings."
