Joe Boyd e Robyn Hitchcock hanno appena concluso negli Stati Uniti un breve ciclo di letture e canzoni dal titolo Chinese White Bicycles. Una registrazione presso gli studi della KEXP a Seattle è disponibile al sito dell'emittente (http://kexp.org), con una scaletta in parte diversa da quella del vero e proprio concerto, che ad esempio quella stessa sera proponeva My White Bicycle, It's All Over Now Baby Blue, Chinese White, Reynardine, River Man, The Wind Cries Mary, Bike e Way Back in the 1960s.

Boyd sarà presto anche in Italia - a Bari il 10 ottobre e a Roma il 12 - per una ripresa di Way to Blue, omaggio a più voci alle canzoni di Nick Drake. Informazioni: http://www.joeboyd.co.uk

Legendary British producer and writer Joe Boyd stops by KEXP to talk about some of his musical experiences in the '60s and early '70s and to read from his book of memoirs White Bicycles. He is joined by singer/songwriter Robyn Hitchcock who covers some of Boyd’s famous tracks on acoustic guitar. As a producer, Joe Boyd helped shape the sounds of some of Britain's most enduring musicians: Pink Floyd, the Incredible String Band, Fairport Convention, John Martyn and Nick Drake. The ever-witty Robyn Hitchcock descends from England's tree of eccentric psychedelia and is a huge Boyd admirer. So having Boyd read from his renowned musical memoir White Bicycles while Hitchcock plays songs his hero produced sparks plenty of fascinating anecdotes and geeky trivia.
